Matt Smith is one of New York’s leading fitness trainers and educators, known for his disciplined approach, unique cross-training techniques and unparalleled ability to motivate clients. He has devoted his life to helping people live happy, productive and healthy lives. In addition to his passion, Matt’s education and training distinguish him from others in the fitness industry and make him the obvious choice for anyone looking to improve their fitness and well-being.

Matt received a bachelor’s degree in Health Science Physical Therapy from the University of Hartford. His studies included a cadaver lab at the University of Connecticut and work with cardiac and post-rehabilitation patients at St. Francis Hospital. Matt also earned a certification from the National Federation of Professional Trainers (accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies), and he has certifications specific to the use of kettle bells and the instruction of prenatal and postnatal clients. He is also a graduate of the Equinox Fitness Training Institute. In addition, he is proficient in basketball, football, soccer, running, spinning, aerobics and many other sports.

Matt tailors each workout to his clients’ needs and goals. In doing so, he helps them improve all aspects of their physical fitness – including their cardio-respiratory conditioning, muscle endurance, muscle strength and flexibility. Workouts can be performed in various locations – outdoors, indoors, in studios, on asphalt turf or in private gyms.
